Thomas is the  Delegate of the Board of Directors for Ringier AG and founder of Ringier Studios. With the introduction of the first iPad, Thomas quickly organized a small team of journalists, creative staff and engineers in a pilot project to develop apps that would use the iPad’s full potential and bring stories to life.  Two apps, The Prince Williams App and The Global Baby App were developed and launched to showcase the capabilities of the team. Ringier Studios was then formed as a separate business entity that would be dedicated and focused on delivering the vision of bringing stories that amaze, educate and entertain to the tablet world. Thomas continues to participate in Ringier Studios as Delegate of the Board of Directors, providing vision and strategy and direct oversight to the European arm of the organization.
Thomas has over 30 years of experience in the media industry and has been with Ringier since 1989. He has held various executive positions including Member of the Group Executive Board from 1992 to 2010.  Thomas was also responsible for Ringier’s global expansion having established business operations in Eastern Europe and Asia. Currently, in addition to his Ringier Studios, Thomas is the Chairman of Ringier Pacific and developing Ringier’s new publishing business in Africa.

Simon started his career with UBS. He then consulted customers with advertising and marketing agencies, among them Wunderman Y&R and Euro RSCG.  In the Nineties he established various consumer brands in Central and Eastern Europe and was responsible to establish the Orange Brand in the consumer’s minds in Switzerland. He rebranded hearing company Phonak/Sonova globally. Simon holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Simon is the Managing Director of Ringier Studios.

 

Stéphane Carpentier – Creative Director

Stéphane is a seasoned veteran of art and creative direction in the media and publishing world, having been in the business for over 20 years.  Stéphane has been with the Ringier Group since 1998, initially as Art Director for Ringier Romandie. He has also had responsibilities as Creative Director for Ringier Europa, Creative Director for the whole Group Ringier, Visual Director for the Ringier Newsroom and has launched the Ringier Infographics Studio.
As part of the leadership team for Ringier Studios, Stéphane now resides in Vietnam, managing the production organization and providing the visual and design direction for the company.

Prior to Ringier, Stéphane has held various other positions as Art Director for Edipresse, a major media and publisher in Switzerland.

Romain Rosay – Director of Engineering

After starting his career developing complex web sites, Romain specialized in optimizing process management systems for large-scale enterprises. With a solid academic background from a leading Swiss engineering school (School of Business and Engineering Vaud – Heig-VD), Romain has always worked at the forefront of technological innovation in his field. He joined Ringier in 2009 where he has worked on a number of innovative projects, including designing and developing a multi-platform mobile interface system.

Marc Carrard – Director of Technology & Innovation

After pursuing engineering studies in a major Swiss engineering school (School of Business and Engineering Vaud – Heig-VD), Marc worked at an NGO which combated pedophilia on the Internet. As part of his work there he developed a revolutionary software which allowed a number of police forces across the world to monitor and hunt down pedophiles. Since 2008 he has worked with Ringier in Lausanne where he heads online activities and uses his experience to develop state-of-the-art network, Internet and mobile software solutions.
